Central Florida is home to the presence of several world-class institutions of
higher education including the University of Florida, the University
of South Florida and the University of Central Florida. Clear Springs
founder, Stanford N. Phelps--himself a graduate of Phillips Exeter
Academy, Yale University and the Harvard Business School—recognizes
the critical
role played by higher education in the process of developing new technologies,
whether in life sciences or beyond. To demonstrate the depth of his
beliefs, Mr. Phelps has:
- Established the Henry E. Riggs Professorship
of Management endowment at the Keck Graduate Institute, the
only American graduate school created
exclusively for the education of leaders for the biosciences
industry and the development
of beneficial applications from emerging discoveries in the
biosciences
- Dedicated in 2001, the Phelps Science Center at Phillips
Exeter Academy became the bricks-and-mortar embodiment of Exeter’s
commitment to student-centered education giving student’s
access to a dynamic
atmosphere of exploration, discovery and collaboration ensuring
that Exeter prepares
young people to become scientifically literate citizens of
the world.
As a reflection of that commitment to the role of education,
Clear Springs intends to become a Central Florida hub for exchange programs
and collaborative research and development initiatives with local, regional
and state institutions. Colleges and universities around the world are
invited to contact the Clear Springs business development team to discuss
how their programs might match with those of businesses setting up operations
in Clear Springs. Our aim is to bring some of the best and brightest
minds to research and development projects in the heart of Central Florida’s
business corridor.
