Clear
Springs is located squarely in the middle of Florida's High Tech Corridor (FHTC). The
Corridor and its guiding council was established by the State’s
Legislature in 1996 with a mission to attract, retain and
foster the growth of high tech companies. An important part
of its mission
is workforce training carried out in conjunction with the
State’s leading universities (University of Central Florida;
University
of South Florida; University of Florida). Companies doing
business in the FHTC have access to local, regional and state
government
resources and incentives including workforce training/retraining
programs. Operationally the FHTC has a sector focus targeting
incentives to businesses in the following categories:
- Agritechnology
- Aviation and Aerospace
- Digital Media/Interactive Media
- Financial Services
- Information Technology
|
- Life Sciences/Medical Technologies
- Microelectronics/Nanotechnology
- Modeling, Simulation and Training
- Optics and Photonics
- Sustainable Energy
|
Through 2004 the FHTC Council has created numerous
partnerships based on their strategic approach to high-tech economic
development that resulted in over $120 million in matched research
programs benefiting companies, employees and universities within
the Corridor. In addition to matched research programs, the Council
fosters workforce development and marketing programs along with
other programs aimed at leveraging governmental, economic development
organizations and corporate budgets on a regional basis. Locating a high tech business at Clear
Springs means you will be surrounded by a vitally alive high tech community. To date
there are more than 8,490 high technology companies in Central
Florida representing a wide range of sub-industry segments in
optics/photonics; aviation/aerospace; information technology;
life sciences/medical technologies; microelectronics/nanotechnology;
and modeling/simulation/training. These companies employ more
than 131,000 professionals and generate earnings in excess of
$7 billion. |
